VISION PLAN
The Vision Plan worked to strategically activate the east side
of the park, while providing carefully integrated passive
programming on the west side. A large part of this design BRIDGE ENTRY
strategy is to respect the existing natural features of the site, 3RD ST STREETSCAPE
improving circulation and access, while enhancing the user BIKE STATION
experience, and celebrating the unique qualities of the park. NEW MAIN ENTRY
A primary strategy of the vision is to enhance the riverfront
experience and overall access to and from the water. CAR PARK
The Vision Plan introduces a network of boardwalks, RELOCATED TENNIS

restoration to mitigate the ongoing issue of riverbank erosion. RESTROOM

A secondary strategy of the Vision Plan entails relocating OVERLOOK SPOT GABION SEATWALL
essential, but poorly located amenities out of the core of the
park, enabling more active uses to be placed in prominent HAMMOCK GROVE
locations. This strategy includes moving the tennis court and OPEN LAWN

advantage of the highly underutilized space north of the PEDESTRIAN TRAIL ENTRY

currently occupied by the tennis courts, that is susceptible to

entrance along Third Street. While expanding the parking
along Third Street enables the removal of the existing parking ELEVATED LAWN
lot located in the core of park which can be converted to
a series of highly programmable open lawns with a picnic FLOATING DOCK
shelter and restroom facility. Centralizing the activated park
programming, while restricting personal vehicle circulation GABION WALLS
and parking to the perimeter of the park.
